The Reality of a Girls Life
All those hungry eyes that stare at us every time we step out of the house, commenting on how seductive and sexy we look or commenting about how lovely our body shape is. This is something every girl must go through no matter where she lives. If we girls feel like buying some clothes that are, to be very honest not at all revealing, still get shamed for showing “too much skin.” For the starters, we get to hear a variety of taunts like “Why are you even wearing this piece of clothing, why don’t you walk around naked?” if not this then we are served with taunts like, “Oh my goodness! You have covered your body? How did this happen?” and what not! We girls are always taught to dress modestly but then why are the men and the boys out there not taught to behave properly? Girls are victimized, and to get away with the situation, the blame is put on the clothes she was wearing. A girl who wears clothes revealing her body to the girl who is covering her body from head to toe, every single girl has been preyed upon by all the men out there filled with lust. We call ourselves modern, but is this what we are? Women are sexualized in every way possible. From commenting on the way, she dresses to staring at her nonstop we go through every inhuman behavior every single day! We girls are asked to cover our breasts, our cleavage, or every part of our body so that men do not look at us with evil eyes, instead of teaching the men some etiquettes, a woman is moral policed. If a woman decides not to cover up, she is shameless, she is “asking for it!” she is given unimaginable names just because she wore a tank top or jeans or a sleeveless t-shirt. But if a girl decides to cover up fully, she is still beaten to death and brutally raped!
This society has problems with every single aspect of a woman’s life, this society thinks it is right to slit a women’s throat just because she chose not to wear a hijab, this society considers it right to reduce the sentence of a rapist just because he was “kind enough” to spare a 4-year-old minor, this society normalizes targeting and sexually assaulting women because according to them, its always her fault that she stepped out of the confined space!
